For over 100 years, the membership of the Sangamo Club has included key community, political, charity, social, business and educational leaders from across the state of Illinois.

The Sangamo Club is conveniently located in downtown Springfield, close to the heart of state government. The Club is located within two blocks of the Capitol and near the city's finer hotels, convention center, executive mansion, downtown business, the courts and most state administrative offices.

An Advisory Board of Directors comprised of influential and accomplished men and women from widely differing fields of endeavor serve as the foundation of the Sangamo Club. These individuals have given their time, support and guidance to further continuing success of the Club.

Please consider recommending the Sangamo Club when dining with friends, family, and business clients. Also, consider our various private rooms for wedding events, birthday parties, anniversaries, charity events, business dinners, board meetings or seminars. You will find the Sangamo Club is worthy of your greatest expectations no matter the event or the length of your guest list.

The Sangamo Club is noted for fine dining in an elegant atmosphere. Only the freshest highest quality ingredients meet the standards set by our Chefs.

Reservations are encouraged for all open-dining areas of the Club, with the exception of the Grill Room, at which reservations are not accepted at lunch.

LUNCH DINING [ Top ]

Weekday lunch offers a broad menu, featuring fresh meats, seafood, vegetarian, American and ethnic cuisine and daily specials. Lunch is served quickly and unobtrusively.

Lunch in the Grill Room offers a traditional, yet more casual atmosphere, complete with large-screen television monitors. Guests dining in the Grill Room seat themselves. During lunch, Members who are not accompanied by a guest or other Member are invited to sit with fellow Members at one of the two group tables in the Grill Room (called the "long table" and "round table"). When alone, you may also sit at the Grill Room bar or at any table of your choosing in the dining rooms.

DINNER DINING

Dinner features traditional "white table cloth" service, with your server taking and placing your order. Members are asked to review and sign the check at the end of the evening.

Evening meal service offers gourmet a la carte menu and wine by the glass and bottle. Our pianist plays on Friday and Saturday evenings in the Main Dining Room.

A variety of finest quality dinner specials and buffets featuring salad and entree for one fixed price. Nightly specials are offered from time to time often hightlighting seasonal specialties. Chef's Night on Thursday includes at least three selections. “American Bistro” is offered on Friday evenings and features a cold buffet. Value-priced entrees are available on this menu, as well as gourmet selections. During the Christmas season, a Holiday Buffet replaces the American Bistro menu. Pan fried chicken and made-from-scratch mashed potatoes and gravy are offered on Family Night on Wednesday evenings. Entrees may also be ordered from the menu.

Read the Club newsletter, Syllabus , for the latest updates on special dinner menus and related service. Members may also call the Club in advance and arrange for preparation of food items not appearing on the menu. Additionally, the Club’s baker can prepare custom-baked cakes to help celebrate special events.
