As a Member of the Sangamo Club, you are entitled to use a network of select private clubs across the U.S. and in other countries. Most are "city clubs," meaning they are dining, business and social clubs. We have relationships with some country and yacht clubs, which provide the services of a city club. Some clubs also offer health and athletic facilities, guest rooms, billiard rooms, expanded libraries and art collections.

One benefit is the individual character of each location. Overnight accommodations are typically 25% to 50% below that of the market price of comparable lodging in nearby hotels. Fact sheets pertaining to reciprocal clubs may be obtained by contacting the Sangamo Club's Membership and Program Director at 217-544-1793. New clubs are added--sometimes at the suggestion of Members who have been guests at the respective club. Please bring the names of desirable clubs to the attention of the Membership and Program Director. When planning to use a reciprocal club, call the Sangamo Club after making reservations with the visiting club. A letter of introduction will be issued for presentation to the visiting club. Letters of introduction are valid for 30 days and can be mailed to you time permitting, or may be picked up at the club. Many clubs allow reciprocal guests to use their facilities without prior notification. Therefore, if you are unable to request a letter of introduction prior to visiting the reciprocal club, they may confirm your membership by calling the Sangamo Club at the time of your arrival.

Some reciprocal clubs forward bills to the Sangamo Club. Expenses incurred at the reciprocal club are added to the Member's club bill. Many require credit cards at the time services are rendered.

Perhaps you have an associate or friend who travels frequently. Why not sponsor him or her for membership at the Sangamo Club so that person may enjoy the convenience of staying at any of the reciprocal clubs throughout the world? A membership application maybe obtained by contacting the the Sangamo Club's Membership and Program Director.
