Sangamo Club is a timeless Springfield institution that opens the doors to opportunities for members and their families. The management and staff aim to create the experiences that make up a member's lifestyle, all set against the backdrop of an elegant yet comfortable environment in the historic downtown district. Social and professional networking, community involvement, fine and casual dining options, special events and exceptional programming make up Sangamo Club's membership experience.
Executive Chef Joseph Martin oversees all food and beverage operations as leader of the culinary team. Chef Joe joined
the Club in 2016 after nearly thirty years of industry experience spread out among private clubs, fine dining restaurants, and healthcare in multiple states across the country. Chef Joe prides himself on providing exquisite and memorable dining experiences for members and their guests. He has a "never say no" attitude when it comes to special requests. His menus reflect modern sensibility, market seasonality, and the rich history and tradition Sangamo Club is built upon.
Reservations are encouraged in all a la carte dining areas of the Club, with the exception of the Grill Room during lunch, at which time reservations are not accepted. Members enjoy seat-yourself style service during that meal period where the atmosphere is more casaul. Large-screen televisions provide a great setting to enjoy a sports event day or night.
Weekday lunch offers a broad menu, featuring seafood, vegetarian, American and ethnic cuisines as well as exciting specials that change daily. Lunch is served quickly and unobtrusively for those hoping to conduct business. Dinner service features traditional "white table cloth" service in the Main Dining Room in addition to the upscale casual setting in the Grill Room. Nightly specials are offered and often highlight seasonal specialties, often times selected fresh from the Downtown Farmers' Market right outside the clubhouse.
Full bar service is available in the Grill Room each day the Club is open beginning at 11:30am. Bar service includes a broad variety of spirits, wines, and beers.

Sangamo Club Live!
The third Friday of each month features a different musical performance in the Main Dining Room. From jazz to acoustic, rock to classical - there's something for everyone to enjoy throughout the year. The dress code is relaxed in the Main Dining Room on SC Live! nights and blue jeans and approved casual attire are welcome.
Oysterfest, Lobsterfest and Soft Shell Crabfest are must-attend events for our seafood-loving members who spend the majority of the year land-locked in the Midwest. These sumptuous evenings scheduled throughout the first half of the year, will satiate those fresh seafood cravings even when not visiting the coasts.
Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Passover, Easter Eve, Mother's Day, Father's Day Eve, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Carols & Cocktails, Kool Yule Kids' Holiday Party, Chanukah, New Year's Eve. Members can count on a memorable celebration with loved ones, no matter the holiday.
This program runs September-May and is lead by a committee of current and former education and literary professionals. Each year, they put together a roster of impressive authors, scholars, and lecturers to provide presentations on books, genres, and publications across a great variety of subjects. This popular club program is a favorite among avid readers and life-long learners.

Emerging Professionals Activities
This younger classification of members enjoy a monthly meet-up on the last Thursday or Friday of the month. Whether it's a professional development/networking night or "Late Night Date Night" you can always count on a diverse crowd of members and guests mixing and mingling. The highlight of EP actvities is the annual "Wine Wagon" trip to a local winery following brunch at the Club on a Saturday in the fall. Interested in these events but not an EP member? No matter! Members of all ages are welcome to participate.
The above list is just a taste of what's happening at Sangamo Club. The membership and marketing committee meets monthly to plan events and get creative with the calendar. They are always open to feedback and ideas from members.
As a member of Sangamo Club, you are encouraged to visit our network of more than 100 select private clubs across the United States and in other countries. Like Sangamo Club, most are "city clubs," meaning they are dining, business and social clubs. We have relationships with some country and yacht clubs, which provide the services of a city club. Some clubs offer health and athletic facilities, guest rooms, and impressive libraries and art collections.
When planning a visit to a reciprocal club, contact Sangamo Club after securing any and all reservations with the visiting club. A letter of introduction will be issued to the visiting club indicating your membership in good standing. These letters are valid for 30 days from the date of arrival. If you are unable to request a letter of introduction prior to visiting the reciprocal club, they may confirm membership by calling Sangamo Club at the time of your arrival. Most reciprocal clubs will ask that all charges are settled before departure using a major credit card. Some may forward bills to Sangamo Club and those expenses incurred at the reciprocal club are added to the Member's account.

We are always looking for new clubs to enhance our network, and appreciate the suggestion of members who have been guests at the respective club.
