Sangamo Club pens and note pads are available for meetings. The Club will also obtain flowers and other items at your request.

Private Rooms [ Top ]

  1. A minimum charge applies per person for meals served in banquet spaces except the President's Room and Board Room. This minimum is $9 for breakfast, $10 for lunch, $17.00 for dinner and $16 for receptions. Standard 18% service/tip and 7.75% sales tax is added to the minimum. Members ordering from the banquet menu incur the minimum per person charges. When less expensive items are ordered, the reserving member is charged these minimum fees per person.
  2. To cover overtime labor costs, a labor charge is added for breakfast meal events. The service/tip and sales tax amounts are not added to this labor charge.
  3. Members must guarantee at least 6 meal purchases to reserve any one of three Capital Suites
  4. Members hosting events for which no meal is served are charged a nominal room rental fee. The cut off time between a half day and a full day is 2pm. The full day and half day fees are :

    The President's Room and Grill Room are available only for meal events and may not be reserved for events where no meal is served.

  5. Untimely cancellation of banquet and meeting events results in a charge to the reserving Member. In case of larger events, this charge can be substantial. Members should consult the specific banquet contract for cancellation deadlines.
  6. For large or unusual events, extra labor may be required and additional charges are identified and agreed to in advance.

For events hosting 160 people or fewer, our Lincoln Douglas Ballroom is a single, beautifully appointed room with chandeliers, a coffered ceiling, exquisite crown moldings, brass accents, a double dance floor and a large built-in double bar area. Events booked in this room are perfectly tailored and intimate. With our floor length linens, silver, and polished glassware, all occasions become memorable occasions.

The Sangamo Club's Patio Room is ideal for events where our Ballroom is overly spacious. Tucked behind our main dining room, it is the one location downtown where the outdoor garden and view can be part of the ambiance. With our outdoor suspended lighting and ground lighting, a lovely backdrop exists all year round.

The Capital Suites, Board Room or Presidents Room can be the perfect location for more intimate or family fun occasions. Private dining, cocktail receptions, and board meetings are often held in these rooms.

Our largest wedding receptions, holiday parties, birthday parties, legislative receptions, and special events accommodate up to five hundred guests . Occasions of this size may occupy our entire second floor or building in any variety of ways. Final reception or special event layouts are limited only to imagination and are works of art themselves.

To make your planning simple for these events, we have a list of menu options that many brides, meeting planners, and members peruse for ideas. We may utilize those menus and tailor them to your tastes, our chef may create a menu designed for you, or you may personally design a menu.
